During my stay in Islay I spent a week learning the secretive art of distillation in the smallest family owned distillery on the Island. Whilst filling up one of the barrels I came up with the idea of filling a seasoned Maltese wine barrel with some of Kilchoman’s single malt. The idea was to give the whisky a Maltese twist and what a twist it gave! Over 70 people attended the launch of our whisky and the limited edition malt sold out in a matter of days!
