Discover a fragrance family quite unlike any other, where nothing is quite as it seems. Portraits is a tribute to the good old English spirit: stiff upper lip, caustic humour, and a knack for provocation.

nhaligon’s Portraits collection is quite unique from the more traditional Penhaligon’s fragrances. One can tell at a glance at the intricately hand-drawn packaging designs by talented Icelandic illustrator Kristjana Williams.

Portraits perfume bottles are different, too, made with slightly heavier glass bases than our classic bottles. Each one is topped with a hand polished animal head, inspired by the character they represent. 

To create the distinctive Portraits scents, we enlisted the help of some of the best noses in the industry – Alberto Morillas, Daphne Bugey, Marie Salamagne, Christophe Raynaud and Juliette Karagueuzoglou to name just a few. 

Penhaligon’s Portraits collection has caused quite a stir around the world. Indeed, the exuberant family of scents has ushered in a new generation of passionate Penhaligon’s devotees.

Transported by the breeze of Time to an era of Exploration and daring adventure, Penhaligon’s collection Trade Routes is infused by the vast array of exotic ingredients that arrived into the London docks at the end of the 19th century.

And in harmony with the masterly shapes that rise upwards from the earth, soft female forms command the sky. Damascan Rose is macerated in an abundance of woods and spices. An ornate and sumptuous composition that echos with saffron and incense, per fumum, the perfume of the gods. Patchouli and vanilla sign the base with the familiar reassurance of dusk.
