The AWARD IN PROFESSIONAL MAKE-UP ARTISTRY is intended for those individuals who are interested in the make-up industry, and are also interested in becoming professional make-up artists.
This course is ideal for candidates who wish to experience a practical and hands-on guided approach, giving the learners the opportunity to gain practical skills, knowledge and understanding of make-up application. Whether one is new to make-up or simply wants to brush up one’s skills, this course will help you to achieve confidence and be able to create various looks – from glamorous looks to bridal make-up, period make-up and fashion make-up. This course will also help you to kick start your career as a freelancer.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:
- FLEXIBLE ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
- Potential candidates should be in possession of: O-Level English or equivalent, OR MQF/EQF Level 4 in Beauty/ Make-up or equivalent, OR Foundation program course in Make-up, OR 2 years of experience in the beauty industry.
LEARNING OUTCOMES:
- Define basic terms and products known in the makeup industry
- List the different makeup application techniques and the ability to apply them correctly
- Recall different makeup materials and tools for specific applications
- Understanding responsibilities and the role of a make-up professional
- Health and Safety procedures when applying make-up
- Understand basic facial anatomy and colour theory
- Professional understanding and application techniques in creating a perfect complexion
- Apply and adapt techniques and colours for different skin tones and client aftercare.
