The HAIR RITUEL by Sisley hair care routine acts to condition both the scalp and the hair fibre for global action.
THE SCALP: Like the skin, the scalp is irrigated by a multitude of small blood vessels that provide all the nutrients necessary for the growth, protection and shine of hair.
THE HAIRBULB: The root of the hair, also called the hair bulb, is where the hair is produced. This is where the cells responsible for the formation of the hair fibre and its colour are concentrated.
The sebaceous gland in contact with the hair follicle provides the sebum necessary for the protection, shine and suppleness of hair.
THE HAIR FIBRE: The hair fibre is subject to all kinds of environmental damage, which weakens it day by day.
Its Structure: The hair fibre consists of three layers.
The medulla forms at the centre of the hair. The cortex constitutes the actual structure of the hair fibre. Its cells contain melanin, which gives hair its colour, as well as keratin, responsible for the resistance and elasticity of the hair.
The cuticle, which is the outer layer, protects the cortex from damage and provides the hair with shine.
Its composition: The hair fibre is composed primarily of keratin (approximately 88%), which provides it with resistance and elasticity.
The lipids present mainly in the intercellular cement of the cortex and the cuticle provide the hair with a certain degree of impermeability and ensure cell cohesion in the hair fibre.
Melanin is responsible for the colour of hair.
