What better way to bond than being there with your daughter as she starts experimenting with Makeup?  Every girl’s dream.  Or to spend some mother & daughter quality time whilst having fun, experimenting and learning all about make-up.  And while at it, learning more about yourself since our skin changes as we get older.  All this is under the guidance of our Make-Up Guru Chris Attard.

The make-up lesson is totally customised around both of your needs and addresses colouring and skin type, including the products, colours and textures that suit you best plus tips and tricks.   Refreshments will be served and a goody bag will be given to all attending.

Date of session: Friday 6th May – 4 pm or 6 pm (choose 1 session – session duration 1 ½ hrs)

Venue: Baystreet St Julians (Upper Deck Room within Fornelli Restaurant, 4th Floor)

Price: €60 (ticket covers Mother & Daughter*)

Phyto-Rouge Shine is a new innovation in lip care: the perfect combination of the shine of a gloss, the comfort of a balm and the melt-in colour of a lipstick.

The Hydrobooster complex (composed of Hyaluronic Acid and Konjac Glucomannan microspheres) plumps, hydrates and smoothes the lips. With repeated application, lips are soft, nourished and protected.

FRANKS and Luke Azzopardi Studio have teamed up to create the ultimate accessory, merging narratives from the past with contemporary technology.

The Limited Edition 3D printed lipstick case is inspired by the marble sculptures of classical antiquity. Drawing motifs from the story of Cupid and Psyche, the lipstick case is a modern emblem commemorating the great mythological love affair (and the perfect gift). 

The case is crafted out of steel and closes using a metal clasp. The Cupid lipstick box includes an internal mirror, and is lined in black felt. It is sized to just hold your favourite lipstick.

James Atkinson

He opened his first perfume shop at 44 Gerrard Street, London in 1799. In 1826 was proclaimed by King George IV the Official Perfumer to the Royal Court of England.

In the early Spring of 1799, James Atkinson, an enterprising young gentleman from the wilds of Cumberland, set forth by carriage for the glorious city of London.

In his suit pocket were recipes for fine scents and toiletries of his own devising. Next to him sat a sizeable quantity of rose-scented bear grease balm. Next to the balm sat a growly bear.

Once described as “that marvellous perfume shop with the most terrifying bear”, James Atkinson and his ursine sidekick founded Atkinsons in Soho in 1799. Within mere days the utterly fantastic balm became indispensable to London’s most uppity crust, who braved the bear at the door of 44 Gerrard Street to procure sufficient stock for the Social Season.

Truly Uncommon Scents

Essence of English Fragrance which became worldwide famous within the Royals and Aristocrats.

In 1800, James Atkinson hit upon his most startling creation to date, a fearlessly English Eau de Cologne totally different from the Italianate colognes then in vogue. Curiously fresh yet warm and spicy, the new Eau de Cologne was stronger and more prepossessing than its continental cousins, with a lingering trail that conjured forth the confident attributes of the British Empire.

It and all things Atkinsons became such a sensation with the royal ranks that when King George IV caught a whiff of it at Buckingham in 1826, he proclaimed Atkinsons the Official Perfumer to the Royal Court of England on the spot. From then on the sweet smell of Atkinsons’ success wafted throughout the realm, emanating most deliciously, in 1832, from its utterly fantastic new headquarters at 24 Old Bond Street.

In an increasingly global culture, diversity is everywhere.  And Malta is no exception.  When you walk around, you hear a myriad of languages and accents, and see people with different physical and facial features – a representation of the colourful and varied tapestry of the human race.

This year’s campaign celebrates diversity.  Because diversity definitely makes life more interesting.  Imagine how boring life would be if everyone looked, sounded and thought the same way.  If all the birds looked the same and the trees carried the same leaves.  Our world would lack its endless beauty and timeless wonder.

When we, as people, learn to embrace diversity and start to know people as they are and not as we perceive them to be, our diverse world will provide an endless source of joy and an opportunity to “step outside of our own canvas”, thus becoming less afraid of our differences and more attuned to our similarities in a world full of both.  In the end, we all need a heart and a brain to live, oxygen to breathe and food to survive but the way we look and speak might be different.  Not only is this OK, it is what really provides richness to our world.

Because yes, there is BEAUTY IN DIVERSITY.
